What is a screen preparation charge?
A screen preparation is the process of taking your artwork and exposing it onto a screen to print your order. We make one screen for each color in your design and for each location. (For example: for a 2 color front print and a 1 color back print, we would charge you 3 screen preparation charges.)

What is a set-up fee?
A set-up fee covers the expense of setting up your previously prepared screens for a reorder that does not meet our criteria for that particular job. Most re-orders do not need to pay set-up fees. This specific set-up fee would be determined when you Request a Quote for your reorder.

When I pay for a screen preparation charge, does that mean I own the screen?
No, screens actually cost a lot more than the screen charge. The fee that we charge you actually helps to cover the cost of developing the artwork onto the screen, preparing the screen for the printing process, the labor costs and the cleaning expenses involved with each screen for each job.
